Adolescent Health

As they transition from childhood to adulthood, adolescents make choices that affect their current and future health. These choices are often influenced by family members and friends as well as community, school and work environments.

Six critical types of adolescent health behavior contribute to the leading causes of death and disability among adults and youth (CDC) External Web Site Icon: alcohol and drug use, injury and violence (including suicide), tobacco use, nutrition, physical activity, and sexual behaviors.
