Many of the public health topics addressed by the Community Guide are broad in scope and require multidisciplinary solutions. For this reason, it is important that the systematic reviews are conducted by diverse teams. Three teams work on each systematic review:

  • Coordination Team – directs all phases of the design, execution, analysis, and communication of the review. This team is made up of individuals with methodological or subject matter experience, and includes the lead scientist for the review as well as at least one member of the Task Force.
  • Consultation team – a senior advisory team made up of multidisciplinary experts, advises the coordinating team on all phases of the systematic review.
  • Abstraction team – reviews and systematically extracts information from the relevant research literature using standardized Community Guide abstraction forms.
