Promoting Health Through the Social Environment: Housing
Low-income neighborhoods may lack resources that support safety and good health, including access to safe housing. People living in these neighborhoods may be at greater risk for intentional injuries, for victimization, and for crimes against person and property. These interventions seek to improve household safety for low-income families by giving them a choice to move to neighborhoods with less poverty and a lower risk of victimization.
