In addition to systematic reviews already completed or in progress on reducing the use of tobacco and preventing alcohol abuse and misuse, the Task Force on Community Preventive Services also selected “other addictive drugs” as a priority topic for systematic reviews. These reviews will explore the evidence on effectiveness of selected population-based interventions to prevent or reduce the abuse of drugs other than tobacco and alcohol. The criteria used by the Task Force to select this topic were the burden of disease, injury, impairment, or exposure; preventability; and related initiatives such as Healthy People.

At this time, work has not yet started on this systematic review.
