David C. Grossman, MD, MPH
Appointed to the Task Force: 2013David C. Grossman, MD, MPH is a senior investigator at the Group Health Research Institute, Medical Director for Preventive Care and Population Strategy at Group Health Cooperative, Professor of Health Services and Pediatrics at the University of Washington, and a practicing pediatrician. He is a member of the Board of Scientific Counselors for CDC's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, of the executive committee of the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention, and many other panels. Dr. Grossman has deep experience in injury prevention and control (motor vehicle, firearm, suicide, smoke detectors, violence), especially for children and adolescents, rural populations, Americans Indians, and Alaskan Natives. He has extensive experience with systematic reviews; researching health plan- and delivery system-based innovations to improve preventive services delivery; developing and implementing population-based prevention programs (oral health, immunization, etc.); and prioritizing preventive services. Dr. Grossman is a member of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, which will strengthen links between the two Task Forces.
