Lisa Prosser, PhD

Lisa Prosser, PhD is a public health policy researcher and Director of the Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research Center at the University of Michigan. She holds faculty appointments in the Medical School and School of Public Health, and also serves as the Associate Vice President for Research-Health Sciences.

Dr. Prosser’s research focuses on measuring the value of childhood health interventions. Her research evaluating the cost-effectiveness of vaccination programs has been used in setting national vaccine policy for children and adults. This research was conducted collaboratively with the CDC and has supported ACIP decision making for seasonal influenza, H1N1 influenza, and zoster vaccination programs. Her work as a member of the Evidence Review Group for the Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders in Newborns and Children uses decision analytic modeling to project population-level health outcomes for proposed national newborn screening policy recommendations.

The policy impact and commitment to research translation in her research has been recognized by the University of Michigan’s Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation Impact Accelerator Award and the John Eisenberg Award for Practical Application of Medical Decision Making Research from the Society for Medical Decision Making.
